The 'Three Generations Master-Apprentice' project, initiated by Izmir University of Economics (IUE) to bring its students together with business people and experts in the sector before they graduate, reached 595 young people in two years. Each student who participated as an 'apprentice' in the project, which was implemented for the first time in Turkey, was matched with a person (master) from the sector they would like to work in, in the future. IUE students communicate with their masters and ask what they are curious about, benefit from their experience and guidance skills, and make future career plans with the guidance of business people.
Toygun Çetin, a graduate of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Cinema and Digital Media, achieved great success with his short film 'Jelly', which is about a depressed young man's socialization effort with the help of a digital friend developed with artificial intelligence. Elif Tanınmış (26) from Izmir turned her childhood dream of being a theater actress into reality while she was studying at university. After enrolling to Department of Public Relations and Advertising, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) in 2014, Tanınmış started her theater education at the New York Sanat Akademi (Art Academy) and took the first step into the art life of her dreams. Tanınmış, who successfully carried out both her undergraduate and theater education, soon made a difference with her talent and went on the stage. Having studied at the academy for 4 years and met with the audience in many plays such as 'Kanlı Nigar', 'Bana bir şeyler oluyor' and ‘İki efendinin uşağı’ during this time, Tanınmış has also taken action to reach children and young people who want to be theater actors like herself.
'Turkish coffee', which has become one of the indispensable values of our culture, inherited from centuries ago, and 'coffee fortune-telling', which many people have made a habit of, became the subject of a documentary by young directors from Izmir. The documentary titled, "The Cafedomancy", prepared by Mert Fırat Sarıoğlu, a graduate of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Radio and Television Programming, and Furkan Akdağ, a student of the Department of Cinema and Digital Media, is getting ready to meet the audience at the world-famous Cannes Film Festival in May. Young people from IUE, who stated that they aimed to introduce Turkish coffee to the world with the documentary, and that they got different answers from people why they had their fortune read, such as "Even if we don't believe in fortune telling, we get it read" and "It's for fun", said that, “We believe that we have prepared a documentary that will make a difference and attract the attention of the audience.”

Alp Buğra Nazar and Yağmur Sarıdede, graduates of Izmir Department of Architecture, University of Economics (IUE), came in first place in the Sarayönü Kızılay Square Urban Design Ideas Competition held in Şanlıurfa. Nazar and Sarıdede, who prepared environmentally friendly designs suitable for the historical texture of the region for Kızılay Square, which was demolished and cleared of concrete by Şanlıurfa Municipality, came in first place among 67 ambitious projects.
Ezgi Yelekoğlu Baylan, a graduate of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Industrial Design, who turned her passion for design into a profession, which started at a young age, did not forget the children who did not have toys and could not go to the playground. IUE designer Baylan became a source of happiness and energy for children in Kars and Gaziantep by designing playgrounds, which are kilometers away, with the 'Umut Parkı (Hope Playground)' project. Baylan said, “All children are very precious to me. All children with or without mental or physical disabilities should take the same pleasure in playgrounds. All my effort is for this. Izmir University of Economics (IUE) student Buse Köksal, who dreamed of being a pilot like her father since her childhood, achieved her goal by not giving up her passion for a moment, and flew with her father in the same cockpit. Köksal, who could not forget the days when she wore his father's pilot uniform when she was only 6 years old, and even resigned from the company she worked for and went to America for pilot training, proved that nothing can withstand the power of determination. Working with her father Ufuk Köksal in the same airline company, and flying together to many destinations around the world such as Germany, Austria and the Netherlands, Buse said, "I decided to follow my dreams during my university days. I am very happy to be able to do the job that I wanted so much with my father. "I will never forget my father saying 'Good landing, girl' on the radio on my first flight."
Mürüvvet Dolar, a graduate of Izmir University of Economics (IUE), Department of English Translation and Interpretation, first learned sign language and then became a sought-after name in the business world thanks to her beloved dog named ‘Çamur’. Two years ago, while walking Çamur in the park, she met a deaf person like herself walking their dog and decided to learn sign language to communicate with them. Attending the 'sign language' classes given to students at IUE, Dolar took advantage of this opportunity to learn sign language and found a job as soon as she graduated from the university.
