Final-year students of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Faculty of Fine Arts and Design completed their educational journey with the horizon themed ‘Graduation Exhibition and Fashion Show’. The exhibition, which featured the projects of students who graduated from 4 departments this year, attracted great attention, and the special collection consisting of 40 works prepared by 6 students who graduated from the Department of Textile and Fashion Design received full marks from the fashion show audience.
The ‘Graduation Exhibition and Fashion Show’, which has been organized by IUE Faculty of Fine Arts and Design since 2003 and attracts great attention, was held on campus. Creative projects jointly prepared by the students graduating from Industrial Design, Architecture, Visual Communication Design, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design departments were showcased in the exhibition.
A DIGITAL CATALOG WAS PREPARED
The projects brought to life by young people by combining design and technology have also been turned into a digital catalogue, which also included two- and three-dimensional images and videos of the projects. In the night with intense participation, enthusiasm peaked with the fashion show, which featured the special works prepared by the graduates of Department of Textile and Fashion Design. The environmentalist, modern and sustainable designs worn by Rönesans Agency's models received the appreciation of the audience. During the fashion show, the videos, which were shot at the Lunapark in Kültürpark and the works prepared by students, were also shown to the guests. The program was broadcast live on the University's YouTube account.
WE ARE PROUD OF THEM
Prof. Dr. Ender Yazgan Bulgun, Dean of IUE Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, stated that they were happy to organize the ‘Graduation Exhibition and Fashion Show’ which had to be held online during the pandemic period, face to face again. Stating that 200 young people graduated from the Faculty this year, Prof. Dr. Bulgun said, “The entire graduation projects are the product of four years of hard work by the faculty and students. We work with our students, and believe that we have trained them all very well. This year, the concept of the exhibition and fashion show was ‘horizon’, and it turned out beautifully. We formed a creative team under the leadership of Lecturer Selin Gülden. Our team contributed greatly to the running of the organization. I would like to thank them, and wish continued success to our students, each of whom we are proud of, in their future lives.”
