New generation of pharmacy services will minimize patient problems and accelerate the procedure. Patients will be able to enter their prescription code and receive their medicine in no time thanks to the mobile application titled, “Eczane (Pharmacy)”, developed by Osman Sabri Bilgiç, Graduate, Department of Industrial Design, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Izmir University of Economics (IUE).
The application, supported by software and products, will allow medicine to be prepared with the permission of the patient and the pharmacist without the patient having to go to the pharmacy. The application will include patient’s health information and remind the patient about taking the medicine(s) on time.
Osman Sabri Bilgiç reported that most of the time patients had to go from pharmacy to pharmacy looking for their medicine, so he developed this project in order to put an end to that hassle. He said that the patients would enter the prescription code into the system and be able to choose from a list of pharmacies in close proximity. “Patients will be able to ask for their prescription medicine to be prepared in advance without having to go to the pharmacy. Once at the pharmacy, they will just pick up their prescription without waiting. The system will include patient’s health information and remind the patient about taking the medicine(s) on time. With this system, we aim to minimize the problems encountered by patients and speed up the communication process between patients and pharmacists,” said Bilgiç.
