I crossed paths with Izmir University of Economics on an autumn day in 2004. It was the place where I had the best four years of my life; and established fine friendships in addition to achieving academic competencies. I graduated from Department of Business Administration in 2008 and was accepted to a master’s program at University of Hertfordshire, London the same year with references from my instructors in order to further my education and have experience. I was scared at first, I wasn’t sure if the extent of the education I received, or my foreign language skills would be sufficient. Was it going to be hard? However, when my graduate courses started, I did not feel alienated about the foreign language, terms related to my field, or the content of the courses. Education I received was more than enough. After two successful years in London, I completed my master’s degree and returned home. I realized it was a right decision when so many doors were opened for me thanks to the education I received. I started to work at an independent auditing firm and worked as Assistant Auditor for almost three years. After learning many information about different sectors thanks to my job and improving myself in every way, I started to work at Finance Department of an English retail company. After two years of experience in retail sector, I decided to gain experience in manufacturing sector and started to work as a Budget and Reporting Supervisor at an Italian company. I have been working in the same company since 2015. During this period, I completed my 3-year compulsory internship in Financial Consultancy, which I started in order to gain more knowledge and competence in my profession, and I was entitled to receive the Independent Accountant Financial Advisor License in 2017. When I look back, I see that I received an undergraduate education in European standards which I am proud to have on my resume, many solid friendships I made, and proud to call them friends even after so many years, and an alumni card I am honored to carry in my wallet. I would like to express my gratitude to my esteemed professors for supporting us in furthering our education and improving ourselves, as well as trusting us that we would succeed. If you know what you want out of life and want to succeed at life, Izmir University of Economics will use every means available to guide you towards that goal, and to help you become an individual who can look into the future with self-confidenc
