Izmir University of Economics (IUE), which supports students’ participation in social, cultural and sports activities greatly since its establishment in 2001, also inspires its entrepreneur graduates to set up businesses that they would appreciate all throughout their lives. Aytaç Dayanç, while he was attending IUE Vocational School-Logistics Program, established Far East Sports student club, and built a business on his hobby. Dayanç proved his entrepreneurship skills by establishing the ‘White Club’ and turned his hobby into a profitable business, where he offers training on different branches, mainly Far East sports but also on ballet, chess, piano, drawing, etc.
Dayanç, who initiated the establishment of students clubs on boxing, kickboxing, aikido, jujutsu, capoeira, and kendo at the University, offers training to youth of all ages in professional life. He started his business life from zero by using the entrepreneurship loan offered by Balçova District Governorship. Dayanç said, “I combined boxing, which I have been involved with since my high school years, with Far East sports during the University life. We established student clubs on these areas with the support of Izmir University of Economics. We had many members. After I graduated from IUE, I worked at a logistics company on marketing and sales for one year. But I never let go of sports and started this business without any support. Thanks to the entrepreneurship loan offered by Balçova District Governorship, I established my enterprise from scratch and set up the life park.”
IUE graduate Dayanç stated that he felt a new chapter was about to begin in his life when he first started with student clubs, and he performed as the president of the club for 4 years. He now acted only as the honorary president for the club. Dayanç, who also stated that his business was held up as an example by Balçova District Governorship, indicated that getting involved in social activities at the University along with the education he received had tremendous positive effects on his life. He said almost 30 trainers on different branches worked in his life park. Dayanç mentioned that the parents trusted them with their kids, and the adults had a place to get healthy living, and people wanted to change their life styles.
