Izmir University of Economics (IUE) is drawing attention with its qualified graduates in business world. Nazlıgül Bozok, who graduated from IUE Department of Translation and Interpretation this year, already started to work as a translator at IIP Project by JTI Turkey Human Resources Department. JTI is an international division of a Japan based company. Bozok takes an active role in the meetings of senior managers, Ricky Kujawa and Georgina Mardsen with JTI personnel in Izmir, Istanbul, Bursa, and Adana, as part of the IIP Project.
Bozok said she passed the oral translation tests successfully during the hiring process and that terminology studies on various subjects and note taking techniques they learned as part of her education at IUE Department of Translation and Interpretation contributed a lot in her employment. “I turned into a self-confident, well equipped, talented translator who can work at any condition thanks to the practices we made during our learning at IUE. I was not aware of this ‘till I started working. Also, during my senior year, my teachers encouraged me to go to different cities, different countries to do consecutive and simultaneous translation on subjects such as agriculture, animal breeding, green housing, chemistry, yoga, etc. I see the benefits of this experience in my work life now. I am thrilled to be working at such a major international project thanks to my education,” said Nazlıgül Bozok.
