Graduates of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) are enjoying the success of blending their theoretical and practical information together in business life. Hazar Zorluer, graduate of IUE Department of Business Administration-Accounting and Auditing Option Program, has reached a 10 million dollar investment in coop and egg production in Azerbaijan, a business he started while he still was a student. Zorluer, made 3 and a half million TL in endorsements last year, and as he made a name for himself by exporting coops and eggs to the most difficult parts of the world, he sent 150 thousand chicks to war torn Syria today. Zorluer also exports his products to countries as Iran, Iraq, Macedonia, Georgia, Tanzania, etc.
Zorluer, who stated he exported an 18-wheeler full of coops to Azerbaijan every week, said his goal was to become the leader of the sector in Turkey and make Turkey an important name in the international market.” Hazar Zorluer stated that he owed his current success to his IUE diploma as well as being in the sector since his childhood. The young entrepreneur said that he convinced the Azerbaijan investors with a feasibility report he prepared, and the education he received at IUE had a major part in his success.
Partnership at a young age
Zorluer pointed that he was also surprised at his partnership with Azerbaijanis, he said:
“Ata Holding officials from Azerbaijan were searching about the systems in Turkey to invest on chicken coops and egg production. I submitted them a flawless feasibility report thanks to my education at IUE. My report included details about what was necessary for a production facility, activity account, tables, results for 2023, and weekly production. They were very impressed with my report, and I started to sell my coops to Azerbaijan after taking care of all problems as a result of research development studies. Later on, Ata Holding asked me to become partners with their Şemkir Aviculture Factory. Today I am the proud partner of a chicken farm business in Azerbaijan. All the materials, coops, and chicks for this factory are supplied by my company in Turkey.”
“Demands are increasing”
Zorluer mentioned that a truck full of chicken materials travelled to Azerbaijan every week and today their capacity reached up to 500 thousand chickens. He said due to their high performance, Georgia, Iraq and Iran, Nigeria and Tanzania requested coops and chicks. Zorluer said just last week he sent 150 thousand chicks to Syria. “While I was getting my education at Izmir University of Economics, I always had the question of how I would advance our business in my mind. My teachers taught me to be venturesome, courageous, and taught about entrepreneurship. I took these steps with these characteristics that the University equipped me with, the rest happened easily and quickly,” said Zorluer.
The young entrepreneur stated that he worked very hard to come up with the best. He said he also started to sell livestock to the countries that he exported to. “I am waving my flag in different countries”, said Zorluer and he continued, “I received good quality of education. Those, who raised me, expect this success from me. I always asked myself how I could become more successful. I learned to make plans. I am always out there in the field. I learned how to do my job at Izmir University of Economics. I am doing what my job requires today.”
