Izmir University of Economics was my dream university. Because in 2007 it was one of the rare universities that had translation booths. That's why it was my first choice. I didn't regret my decision at all when I came to the University. You can be sure that it is a university that breaks the perception of most of the people around as "Private university, you pay, and you graduate." I really had difficulty in my classes. But when I graduated, I was glad that I studied there. Because when I entered the translation world, I realized how valuable the education we received was. I am working as an English Teacher in an institution thanks to the English Teaching Formation I received in my senior year of the University. I am also a sworn translator at a notary. Finally, thanks to the Certificate of Teaching Turkish to Foreigners, which I received in 2019, I also teach Turkish to foreign students. Especially, thanks to Russian, which is the second foreign language I received at school, I can easily give examples in their own language to the Russian students I teach Turkish. In my opinion, the Translation and Interpretation Department is like an open buffet. You can improve yourself in any area you want. The important thing is to be sure of what you want. I can say that my friends with whom I am still in contact after graduating specialized in different business areas. Also, it is one of the great privileges that the university maintains its communication with the alumni after graduation and supports each other thanks to the Master-Apprentice Project.. Finally, if I take the university entrance exam again, my preference would be Izmir University of Economics, Department of Translation and Interpretation without hesitation. Because there is a difference between graduating and being a graduate with a vision.
