The young designer indicated that she was expecting to rank in first place, she said, “The theme of the competition was water. 10 finalists were chosen among many applicants. I designed two female and two male products based on snow crystals. I believed in myself and the education I received, and reached my goal.”
‘My vision came true as a result of IUE-sector collaboration’
Özyoldaş stressed that upon graduating in 2010; she reinforced her work in textile sector through her education on fashion and textile design, and said that the close collaboration of Izmir University of Economics with the sector played a major role in improving her vision. Özyoldaş stated that the fact that she was able to reflect her creativity in her designs was very exciting for her, and she solved the mystery of success in business life. She said the following:
“My only goal was to achieve the first rank in the competition by Denizli Exporters’ Association. In design competitions, besides creativity, the product being wearable and practical is also very significant. I started out with water theme and worked on snow crystals. And I combined this work the traditional structure of art of water marbling. As a result, I was awarded the first in place. I will be closely following the world trends at the centres of fashion throughout my 2 year study I will receive in a fashion related sector. My graduate study will begin in 2014. My goal is to contribute to the development of new designers. After my graduate study, I will be continuing my professional life as an academician.”
