This profession group is unlike any other profession group. Once you love it, once you have a taste of problem solving, you can always ask for more. These are my current thoughts, of course. It is a very classic story about this profession, in daily life you are often asked "this computer needs formatting, can you help?". Everything started this way for me as well. I spent all my summer holidays before university working at my cousins' computer shop. I had one goal, majoring about the computer! During the preparation phase for the university, what I wanted became clearer; software engineering. Regarding the department that was only in a few universities at that time, I am saying that I am glad I came to Izmir University of Economics. During the university period, everything speeds up as of second year. When you start taking the department courses, your excitement for the profession gradually increases and you start to produce something yourself. It is important to be able to adapt to this, the balance you will establish between "You won’t experience the university years again" and "my foundation must be strong" is definitely the key that will lead you to success in school and beyond. When I think of the four years I spent, I remember they were busy and full. When I graduated I found the answers to the questions I often asked myself; such as “is doing projects in the market, outside the school like that?”, “where will we use them?”.  Whatever we had in the courses, I come across one by one, when I compare it with other graduates, I realize how well-equipped graduates my school has. The first step I took for my professional business life after graduation was to perform the military service, which I saw as a barrier to myself. Then I started working as Mobile Application Software Engineer at SoftTech (a subsidiary Software Company of Türkiye İş Bankası). I have done different jobs for about three and a half years. I developed apps in a 3.5-year period, which are equal to 5-6 years of experience. The Maximum Mobil and Business Tablet applications that many of you use nowadays are my projects. Then I started to continue my career at Burgan Bank. Here, I was the one who implemented the bank's first mobile application on iOS and Android platforms. The applications I develop are used by thousands of people every day and I bring practicality and added value to life. After more than five years of corporate professional life in the market, I now continue with my own company, MobileUpp. I take on all these risks by relying on the soundness of my infrastructure and the applications I have implemented so far and the experiences I have gained in that period. To summarize; my goal has always been to be an expert in Mobile Technologies and the fact that the things I have come up with are being used by people in daily life. The fact that my school has made English education a standard and the opportunity of a second foreign language have always been the points that put me one step forward in my social and business life. Now we come to the important part; what are the steps that will take you to success? In this profession, you must be very disciplined and never give up work and patience. You may need to stay work with the same project and computer for days, stay up all night long if necessary. If you think you cannot do these, it will be wise to stay away from this profession. Because, unfortunately, we need people who do their job fondly for quality software. The feeling of satisfaction, relaxation, and happiness you feel when you solve all the problems at the end of everything is truly invaluable and only people who experienced this can understand it. Hight quality foundation universities such as Izmir University of Economics are very important to be successful in business life, but at the end of the day, everything is up to you. You do not need to study hard if you listen to the lesson at school, but in business life, if you continue to work tirelessly even in the hardest days, you can be very successful and make a name for yourself. You know best what will make you happiest, take action, do not be lazy, do not delay, face difficulties and fears.
