The class newspaper we published in elementary school and the small plays I wrote and staged were my first steps toward an interest in the world of communication. This curiosity gradually turned into a passion and led me to the Department of Media and Communication at Izmir University of Economics. Thanks to the strong academic staff and modern studio facilities, my university years became one of the most valuable periods that shaped my career. The education I received at the Faculty of Communication at Izmir University of Economics provided a strong foundation for a 9-year career, leading to opportunities to work in marketing, foreign press relations, public relations, and corporate communications at institutions such as Turkish Airlines, Acun Media Global, CitiBank Europe, and ESBAŞ Space Camp Turkey. I also founded my own company a year ago. I provide support to companies and entrepreneurs in areas such as strategic media and communications consulting, branding from scratch, web design, and content creation. In every project, I prioritize understanding the spirit of the brand and conveying it to the target audience in a sincere tone. In 2013, I launched the Rocking Comet blog as part of a course project. Over the years, Rocking Comet has evolved into a platform where I share my concert experiences and memories of meeting international rock artists. In 2015, shortly after graduating, a brand noticed my blog and asked me to create content about art and fashion for them. I immediately accepted, as I had already taken an elective course called “Fashion Critics” while in school; thus, I took my first step into professional experience by creating content for a fashion brand. With my first salary, I traveled alone to 7 countries and 22 cities. I fell in love with Barcelona and attended a language school there to improve my Spanish, my second foreign language from university. This journey opened doors to international friendships along the way and a career opportunity in the Dominican Republic. Later, job opportunities in Istanbul and Warsaw followed…This year marks exactly 10 years since I graduated from Izmir University of Economics. I continue to develop myself in the field of media and communication. Today, my focus is on growing my own business, producing creative projects, and adding value to brands from different sectors. Recently, I have been selling on e-commerce platforms, consulting for companies, and I even have a YouTube channel now... I sincerely thank Izmir University of Economics, especially the Faculty of Communication, and all my professors who gave me both my professional foundation and the courage to create. The only thing I can say to students who come across this page is: Even if you take a small step in a subject that interests you, you never know where that step might take you. A class project could open professional doors for you years later. If anyone reading this story would like to meet me, collaborate on a project, or get support for communication processes, I would be happy to connect.
