As of the summer of 2005, I was undecided between choosing a university in Istanbul or Izmir. I decided to choose a university in Izmir because I love the city I live in and thought that universities in Izmir could contribute a lot to my future career. When I started to research universities in Izmir, Izmir University of Economics had come to the fore both in terms of its teaching staff and its vision. In my meetings with IEU students at that time, I heard that everyone was extremely satisfied with the university. The university visit I made during the open house also clarified that my choice would be IEU. When the university exam results were announced, I qualified to enroll in Mathematics, with a scholarship. I graduated from Izmir University of Economics in 2009 with many good memories, friendships, knowledge and achievements. After graduation, I first started working as a research assistant in the Department of Mathematics at Doğuş University. Subsequently, as of 2013, I had my first work experience in the banking sector as a credit risk management department specialist at General Directorate of Yapı Kredi Bank. Following Yapı Kredi, I worked as Assistant CRM Manager at Türk Ekonomi Bank and as Credit Risk Management Department Manager at ING Bank Turkey. I am currently working as a Senior Manager in the Risk Management Consulting team at Ernst & Young Turkey. My work generally includes scorecard development, analytical modeling and validation. I make great use of my undergraduate education in my current job as these subjects require a significant foundation in mathematics and statistics. In addition, I can say that the foreign language education and second foreign language I received at the University made a significant contribution to my work in global companies. IUE graduates, who want to continue their career in the field of risk management and are interested in banking and consultancy, can contact me.
