I graduated from Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Izmir University of Economics in 2014. As soon as I graduated, I started my master at Electrical and Electronics Engineering Master's Program with Thesis and started working as a research assistant in the department. I am currently working as a research assistant at Izmir Institute of Technology and doing a PhD in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. Ever since I started my major, I wanted to integrate my interest in biology and chemistry with my engineering knowledge. I was able to direct my field of study to Artificial Neural Networks and Bioinformatics thanks to the courses I took during my undergraduate period and the versatile and insightful attitudes of our professors in research subjects. Thanks to this multidisciplinary education option, I have been able to direct my academic life and now I am doing my doctorate in Molecular Communication. In addition to the theoretical competence of the department, I find it very beneficial that the laboratory facilities are enough and new for learning purposes. In this way, we have the chance to realize our theoretical knowledge in the laboratory environment and to develop new projects. The medium of instruction is English, and the quality of the language education provided has helped me a lot in my academic life. In addition, I think that the second foreign language education is culturally very developing. It is also very beneficial that the University is not only focused on science and that we can be intertwined with social sciences. Thanks to non-departmental elective courses, we can take different courses and develop culturally and socially. Another opportunity for engineering students is the Technology Transfer Office and Izmir Science park within the University. In this way, new ideas can turn into entrepreneurial companies in Izmir Science park with the support provided by this office. You can own a company before you graduate. In the light of all these, I believe that Izmir University of Economics Department Electrical and Electronics Engineering has more than what is required for both an academic and an industrial career thanks to its undergraduate, graduate and doctorate programs.
