Sevginur Ursavaş

After graduating from high school as a top student in 2015, I chose the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Izmir University of Economics for my undergraduate education. During my undergraduate study, I performed internships in various companies and worked part-time. I graduated in 2020. I gained work experience in the field of interior architecture and furniture. As of 2021, I am pursuing my master's degree with thesis in the field of Design Studies at Izmir University of Economics. The most important reason why I chose this field is that I could focus on the subject I wanted to research with a multidisciplinary approach. Thanks to the courses I took during my master's education, I made an attempt that I had dreamed of for a long time.

Barış Sadıç

I started studying at the Department of English Translation and Interpretation at Izmir University of Economics in 2015 with a full scholarship. Starting from my first year, I realized that the school allowed me to develop myself in different fields, and I took courses from different faculties and departments such as communication and political science. At the same time, I laid the foundations of my French language skills, which I now speak fluently.

Upon completing my primary and secondary education in Montenegro with the highest honors, both due to my sport achievements and active contributions to the society through work with the local NGOs and United Nations in Montenegro, I have received scholarships from multiple universities around the world. After a lot of thinking, my decision was to accept the Izmir University of Economics’ international scholarship and enroll into the department of Computer Engineering in 2014. Little did I know that this would be one of the best decisions of my life. I have successfully completed my undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering at University of Tehran, Iran in 3.5 years. After six years of professional work life, I came to Turkey and I successfully graduated from the MBA program of Izmir University of Economics in 2018. I had the opportunity to further improve my English skills, which was at a good level, with my education at Izmir University of Economics. Burak Tarakçı

It is my 3rd year in the Istanbul office of PwC Independent Audit and SMMM A.Ş. company. I work in the Auditing Department as Senior Associate. My duty is to prepare the independent auditor's report and ensure the assistants get involved in the background work and to deliver the report to the Lead Auditor after providing the control.

Hülya Ezgi Tolay

I had worries and indecision about which school to choose in 2013 when I passed the university entrance exam. As a result of my research, I decided that the most suitable university for me would be Izmir University of Economics. I graduated from the Faculty of Business, Department of Political Science and International Relations in 2018.

Fethi Saruhan

After graduating from high school with the first place in 2013, despite the many good options for me, my only choice was the Department of Business Administration at Izmir University of Economics with 100% scholarship. I can see how correct my decision was now, which seemed risky at first. I took my first step into entrepreneurship with the TUBITAK projects I developed during my high school years. I graduated from Department of Business Administration in 2018, and I work as an Assistant Inspector in the Inspection Board of Denizbank A.Ş. as of July 2018. I graduated from Tarsus American College in 2012 and spent the next 2 years in the United States. The importance of the social skills I gained during my education at Izmir University of Economics, which I started in 2014, in business life is better understood in every scenario.

Efe Çukur

I started working as an industrial designer at Günsel Automobile firm of Near East University in 2018. First I was in the interior design team of the B9 vehicle. In the following period, I became the interior team leader and had the opportunity to work on dashboard, center console, interior color and pattern. Later, I took over the project management of an SUV concept vehicle called J9 and we had the opportunity to introduce this concept at launching. I am currently working as an industrial design team leader. 

Ekin Kanığ

I graduated from Izmir University of Economics, Vocational School of Health Services, Medical Documentation and Secretariat Program in 2018. My interest in the field of health and my desire to work in health institutions played a big role in choosing my program. In my choice of university; I learned that Izmir University of Economics is a school with good quality of education, with job opportunities after graduation, and good socio-cultural activities.

Emrah Şahin

I enrolled to Izmir University of Economics Computer Programming in 2016. While I was still a student, I started to work as a Student ISKUR staff in the IT Directorate in January 2017. After completing my duty in June 2017, I also took part in the open house student team at the Promotion and Corporate Marketing Communications Directorate in July-August 2017, introducing the school and the department to the students.  In the same month (August 2017), I started to work again as a permanent Technician within the IT Department.

Yasemin Öykü Nalbantoğlu

I graduated from Izmir University of Economics Vocational School Tourism and Hotel Management Program. I have been working as a Corporate Sales Specialist at Rise Group company since December 2019. 

Berkcan Göktan

Combining my close interest in technology and its derivatives since my childhood and the international profile curriculum of Izmir University of Economics, I saw the Computer Engineering department as the perfect fit for me and I graduated in 2018. Within the month of my graduation, I came to Istanbul and participated in a consultancy program organized by the global-scale SAP company and finished the program with the first place.

I got into Izmir University of Economics Department of International Trade and Finance with full scholarship in 2013. I worked part time in different departments of the school starting from the 1st grade. Miloš Mrdaković

As a very successful junior tennis player in Serbia, I had an opportunity to take full scholarship from many international universities to continue my academic and athlete career. Most of the offers were coming from the United States of America, except one, from Izmir University of Economics. At the time I had genuine interest in Turkey and I thought I had nothing to lose if I tried something different. I am very happy about that decision. My journey at IEU started in 2014 when I enrolled in the department of Computer Engineering. With such strong infrastructure, a variety of courses, and qualified academic staff, I had all the resources I could imagine. 

Hatice Eylül Alan

I graduated from the Department of Political Science and International Relations in 2018 and I wanted to improve myself with the advantages of this field. I started to work at Magmaweld-Oerlikon company in 2018 by taking Foreign Trade and E-commerce trainings thanks to my international relations, money / market courses. Thanks to a year and a half of foreign trade experience and the nice people I have met, the knowledge I have gained has helped me gain experience in terms of management.

I spent 4 months in Florida, USA with the WAT program, after completing the foreign language courses I had to complete for the Department of International Trade and Finance, which I attended very fondly and willingly in 2012. Ceren Özkaya

I graduated from Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Izmir University of Economics in 2016. I studied at IADE Creative University in Lisbon, Portugal for one year with the Erasmus exchange program, and gained universal design and architectural vision in different cultures. Tekin Evrim Özmermer

I started my education at Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in Izmir University of Economics in 2012. In my first year, I finished the preparatory program in half a semester and participated in a volunteer internship program in OMSK, Russia, where I taught English to young children. In 2013, 19 years since my birth in Germany,  I decided to settle in Izmir, Turkey by getting an "Abitur" diploma. I graduated from Izmir University of Economics, Department of Psychology as an honor student. Thanks to the international perspective that my school brought me, and my identity as a researcher to follow different cultures continuously, I started working in the field I wanted in a short time. After graduating from the Department of Sociology of Izmir University of Economics as "High Honor Student" in 2016, I got a full scholarship from the Federal Republic of Germany. Equipped with a balanced combination of theory and practice, the curriculum of the Department of Sociology of Izmir University of Economics provided incredible conveniences in my education abroad. The 6-month scholarship I received at the Department of Social and Cultural Sciences, Fulda University, Germany with the Erasmus program, has changed my understanding of science and modernity fundamentally.

I got into Department of Computer Engineering, Izmir University of Economics with 50% scholarship in 2011. After a good year of English preparatory class, I went to America for 3 months with the Work and Travel program and I had the opportunity to put what I learned in the prep class into practice there. Afterwards, the technical and social lessons we had for 4 years helped me improve myself.

I graduated from Izmir University of Economics, Department of Psychology in 2016 as an honor student. I have to admit that when I was going to university for the first time, it made me very anxious to study at my dream program in English. But when I look back right now, I say "I am glad I did it". Our paths crossed with Izmir University of Economics in 2012 when I started my education life in Software Engineering with a full scholarship. Thanks to the quality education I received from the valuable academics and the two foreign languages ​​​​provided by the University, I had the chance to equip myself at the best possible way. In addition to two compulsory internships, I also performed one voluntary internship. In my last compulsory internship, I was accepted by the Vestel R&D Center and had a productive internship experience of 1 month in the Testing department. In 2016, I was selected to Havelsan's Cyber ​​Security Summer School Program and successfully completed the program.

I enrolled in the Department of Psychology with a full scholarship in 2011. In the summer semester of my 2nd year, I performed an internship abroad for 3 months at the youth center named JUVIVO9 in Vienna with the ERASMUS Internship mobility. After returning from Vienna, I started to do a double major in International Relations and European Union.

Pınar Özen

I started the Department of Translation and Interpretation at Izmir University of Economics in 2011. My biggest motivation was that I entered with a 50% merit scholarship and that my brother Alperen Özen also took lessons from the same teachers in the same department of the same university. I graduated in 2015 by taking lessons from doyens of the department.  As soon as I graduated, I started to work at one of Europe's largest digital agency, Emakina, as an assistant in Izmir office, the only office of the company in Turkey at that time.

Tuna Dabak

I graduated from Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in 2015. At first I was very concerned about the University, but at the end of my 4 years, I can say that Izmir University of Economics is a university that provides opportunities for its students to develop themselves both academically and socially. The course contents and English education in line with the European standards that I had taken during my study helped me to get accepted to my master's degree abroad. I got into the Department of Psychology, which I had dreamed of since childhood and worked hard for it, in 2010. Yaprak Yalçınkaya

I entered this program, which was my first choice, as a full scholarship holder. I successfully passed the preparatory exam in 2011 and started my freshman year when I was only 17. I started to work as a freelance interior designer since 2012. In the third year of my undergraduate education, I decided to spend a semester at the University of Sheffield Hallam in England with the Erasmus agreement IUE is included in. After studying a semester here, I completed the 3rd grade at IUE. That summer, I performed my internship as an interior designer at an architectural firm in Sheffield and took part in large-scale hospital projects. Nihal Kayganacıoğlu

I graduated from Supply Chain Management Associate Degree Program in 2015. Later, I graduated from Anadolu University Open and Distance Education by completing the Business Administration undergraduate degree. Following that, I worked as an operation documentation officer at Omega Global Logistics, which serves as a forwarder, in order to use the theoretical and practical training I received at Izmir University of Economics. 

Sena Tokgöz

Life at university is nothing compared to high school or anything else. When I chose Izmir University of Economics in 2009, I asked myself if I made the right decision. 5 years were ahead of me to see if I made the right decision or not. I’ve always tried my best at Izmir University of Economics and became a successful student. I did not qualify for any scholarships when I first enrolled at school but my hard work paid off and I qualified for 50% merit scholarship. In addition to courses in Public Relations and Advertising, I’ve taken many other electives from variety of fields including Business and Software Engineering.

Upon completing elementary and middle school in Switzerland, I continued my high school and university education in Izmir, and I graduated from Department of Economics (English program), Ege University in 2010. I graduated from Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Izmir University of Economics in 2014. As soon as I graduated, I started my master at Electrical and Electronics Engineering Master's Program with Thesis and started working as a research assistant in the department. I am currently working as a research assistant at Izmir Institute of Technology and doing a PhD in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. I graduated from Izmir University of Economics, Vocational School, Logistics Associate Degree Program in 2014 with full scholarship. After graduating, I continued my undergraduate education at Istanbul University. Thanks to the project work we frequently did at Izmir University of Economics Logistics Program, I have gained experience in many subjects such as identifying and preventing problems, taking action in critical situations, time management, and teamwork.

İlayda Ürel

Choosing a university and department creates a great responsibility for every student. Although I had ideas in mind before taking the university exam, I took the time to get to know the universities and departments. I was able to get into many of the public universities and programs that I had in mind, and I never planned to study at a private / foundation university. However, as I researched further, I decided that I should examine universities not only by name, department, city but also in terms of the opportunities they offer, and that my choice would only be correct in this way. And thanks to this mind frame, I met Izmir University of Economics. I graduated from Department of International Trade and Finance in 2014, and I started my career life in the logistics sector the same year in the light of the quality education I received during my university years. After working in two different logistics companies, I worked for AKG Group / Çimstone as Export Manager for a long time.

Merve Akça

I graduated from Izmir University of Economics, Department of Psychology in 2016 as a high honor student in 2014. After graduation, I received a full scholarship from Sweden's Lund University, which is among the top 100 universities in the world, and I completed my master's in Psychology here. The theoretical and practical applications of psychology I learned at Izmir University of Economics prepared a solid ground for my graduate education. 

Kassim Hamada

I have that zeal for football and, by that, two events inspired me of Turkey: One is the Galatasaray Spor Kulübü during 1999-2000 Europa League campaign and two is the FIFA World Cup 2002, Turkey finished at the 3rd place. I was an extremely mad and strong supporter of Turkey during this World Cup, many of the Comorians citizens support either France or Brazil, but for me it was different.

I graduated from the Department of Psychology at Izmir University of Economics (with Merit Scholarship) with a high honor degree in 2014.  I completed my internship at Ege University, Faculty of Medicine, Division of Psychiatry, General Psychiatry and Mood Disorders Units.  I worked as a volunteer assistant in the Brain Biophysics, Sports and Exercise Physiology Research Laboratories at Dokuz Eylul University, Faculty of Medicine, Division of Biophysics.

Özgün Engün

I graduated from Izmir University of Economics, Department of Psychology in 2014. After working with individuals with intellectual disability for 1 year at the Disabled Care Center in Kemalpaşa, Izmir, I completed my military service as a psychologist second lieutenant in Hakkari/Çukurca for 1 year.

The year 2008, when I started the Department of Public Relations and Advertising, Izmir University of Economics, is one of the most important turning points for me. I was born in 1976 in Eskişehir. I came to Izmir because I got into the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Dokuz Eylul University at the age of 18, and after graduation, I decided to continue my life in Izmir. Izmir, with its people and nature, is a city where I feel comfortable, where we live in peace with my family, and I hope it always stays like this.

I graduated from the Executive MBA Program in 2013. I participated in this program willingly after a thorough research. I was very pleased with my professors and course contents. I have been working at Garanti Bank for about 12 years. 

Taner Güngör

I studied at Izmir Bornova Yunus Emre Anatolian High School between 2004-2008. between 2008-2013, I studied on scholarship  Computer Engineering Department at Izmir University of Economics. I spent my first year in the preparatory program. During the university years, I worked as a freelancer in web development projects in various companies such as Netsis, between 2010-2013. After my graduation, I provided consultancy services for Turkey's big companies such as Isbank and Turkcell for 1.5 years at Accenture Danismanlik. Then, I applied for the Vision and Robotics (VIBOT) Erasmus Mundus master's degree program offered by three different universities, namely University of Burgundy, University of Girona and Heriot-Watt University.

I graduated from the Department of International Relations and European Union, and Energy Policies and Management Certificate Program in 2013. I was the president of IUE Political Platform Club.

I have been living in London for 4 years. I was the founding vice president of Westminster Turkish Society. As Turkish Society, we served foods such as baklava, Turkish tea, cake and Turkish delight during Freshers Week and special times of the year. Cansu Adaş

In every period of my education life, the lesson I was most interested in and the most successful was mathematics. Therefore, in 2008, it was inevitable that my preference form would consist of mathematics departments of universities. And why Izmir University of Economics? The well-equipped academic staff who have contributed greatly to science with their articles and books published in Turkey and abroad, scholarship opportunities, student life in a wonderful city like Izmir, and the medium of instruction being English, as well as the second foreign language education they provide played an important role in my choice of the Mathematics Department of Izmir University of Economics.

After a long research, in 2008, Izmir University of Economics became my only choice, considering the opportunities it provided such as "double major, diploma with international validity, medium of instruction being English and compulsory second foreign language education". I have successfully graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Department of Fashion Design as an honour student, and from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Psychology in 2013 with full scholarship. 

Gazi Caner Tekin

When I first stepped into Izmir University of Economics in 2007 I said to myself “What am I doing here?” One of the main reasons for that was the fact that I was a professional football player at Manisaspor Club, then known as Vestel Manisaspor. I got transferred to Ispartaspor after an accident, and when I came back I took a dislike to football due to some events I witnessed. I always felt a little remorseful because of leaving football because I was going to have a totally different life. Izmir Economics was the newest of my new life…

Ömer Kartal

I started my undergraduate study in Tourism Management at Dokuz Eylül University in 2004.  But three years have passed by the time I started to make different plans for my future. I can honestly say that taking the OSS exam again and being admitted to Izmir University of Economics has been a turning point in my life even though I have lost all that time. A real milestone…If I haven’t done that I would be engaged in a profession I really did not enjoy. Instead, I am working as a Comptroller at Ministry of Finance.

Yeliz Cengiz

It seems that my story started with the tape measure that my teacher hung around my neck while going to primary school. My friends at school representing While my classmates were selected as engineers, doctors or teachers for a school play I cried for being selected a tailor. Even if I was angry with my teacher for this choice that day, the first step of the profession I was going to do years later was taken in those years.

Izmir University of Economics became the place I missed a lot in a short period of time, the place that I wanted to come back again and again. Without a doubt I missed my University, in which I grew up with the academicians who are experts in their fields, a lot. started to study at Department of Industrial Systems Engineering in 2008 and graduated in 2012. Izmir University of Economics, with all it has to offer, is a university where a student can improve in different areas and receive the best quality education. When I entered Izmir University of Economics in 2007, where the medium of instruction is English, my English level was not at the beginner level. Thanks to the English Preparatory Program at Izmir University of Economics School of Foreign Languages, I successfully completed the English preparatory class in 1 year. In 2011, we visited leading advertising agencies and Corporate Communications units of corporate companies in Istanbul, which is the center of the media, communication and advertising sectors, within the scope of the industry trip in the 3rd grade. I had the opportunity to meet professionals in Istanbul and sent my resume for internship application.

Simin Ercan

I stepped into Izmir University of Economics in 2002 for the first time. I dropped out of school in 2004 due to unexpected sad events. I returned to school in 2009 at the insistence of my family. During this time, I got married and became a mother. Everyone except me believed I could graduate, but I was caught between motherhood and being a student. Then I decided what I really wanted. I was very happy to be a part of Izmir University of Economics. 

Erdem Kalaycı

This profession group is unlike any other profession group. Once you love it, once you have a taste of problem solving, you can always ask for more. These are my current thoughts, of course. It is a very classic story about this profession, in daily life you are often asked "this computer needs formatting, can you help?". Everything started this way for me as well. I spent all my summer holidays before university working at my cousins' computer shop. I had one goal, majoring about the computer!

I enrolled at Izmir University of Economics, Department of Economics in 2007. I had hundreds of questions in my mind while choosing my department; "What if, if only I chose that, will this decision be correct?" The courses we have taken, our educators, the extent of our education, our level of following developments and most importantly meeting with ourselves… 

Mustafa Tayyar Uğur

Year 2007 summer and the last days of the university preference period. Frankly, I remember that I came to Izmir with the suggestions of my two older sisters who were very successful in their careers and school life and who lived in Izmir during the years when I approached private school with a very biased way. They were the first to recommend Izmir University of Economics to me. When I came to the university for the first time, we encountered its orange emblem and brick walls.

I enrolled in Department of International Relations and European Union, Izmir University of Economics in 2007. I graduated in the honors list in 2012. Until my graduation, I performed internship at "Make a Wish" association, a social awareness project carried out by Arkas, Provincial Directorate of Environment and Forestry and Sabancı University.

Enes Can Kılıç

I spent five years at Izmir University of Economics, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, which were fun and exhausting, teaching me both about life and the profession. I entered this program, which was my second choice, in 2007 as a full scholarship holder. Its well-equipped staff and scholarship opportunities were very effective in choosing Izmir University of Economics to study design and interior architecture. As a matter of fact, our campus became like our own home thanks to the dormitory facility provided by our school during my 5 years of education.

I graduated from Izmir University of Economics, Department of Visual Communication Design in 2012 as a top student with full scholarship. We had the chance to visit many advertising agencies and production companies in Istanbul thanks to courses such as Applied workshops. In this way, the process of finding a job after graduation became more efficient. In 2011, I started to work as a field assistant and brand manager at Pozitif Music with Rock'n Coke festival. I continued to work here as a freelancer until 2015. As of 2012, I started to work as an art director in international advertising agencies (such as 4129Grey, Fine Arts Saatchi & Saatchi) in Istanbul. 

Göksu Çolakoğlu

I enrolled in Izmir University of Economics, Department of Business Administration in 2008 by passing the prep exam. During my 4-year undergraduate education, I performed internships in the Human Resources departments of multinational companies such as Schneider Electric, Tesco Kipa. I had the chance to apply the knowledge I learned in lessons to internships.

Bensu Sezgin Burcu

I got into Department of Industrial Engineering with full scholarship in 2007 and graduated in 2012.  Having the opportunity to take a course at the Vaasan Yliopista - University of Vaasa in Finland with Erasmus for a semester has contributed a lot to both my personal development and my resume. The medium of instruction being English at the University and being offered an education quality at international standards helped me adapt to the Erasmus process in a short time. 

Gülbalca Çakıroğlu

After I graduated from the Department of Psychology, Izmir University of Economics, which is dear to me, I was accepted to Dokuz Eylül University Clinical Neuroscience Master's program due to my interest in brain and its working principles. My acceptance process of course was not easy like every other success story, as someone who graduated from the Turkish-Mathematics department in a bad high school education, it was beyond my dream to enter a department that accepted students with quantitative score type.

I graduated from Izmir University of Economics, Department of Psychology in 2012. In my career, I would first like to mention how my being in the Psychology Department of Izmir University of Economics contributed positively to my undergraduate life and future plans. Izmir University of Economics Department of Psychology provides a very efficient undergraduate life for psychologist candidates who will continue their professional life in either an academic career or in applied fields with the use of laboratories and  guidance to ensure the continuity of scientific research.

I got enrolled in Izmir University of Economics, Department of Media and Communication in 2007 with a full scholarship. I graduated in 2012. I performed internship in institutions such as Doğuş Media Group (NTV), İhlas Media Group (TGRT), Doğan Media Group (Posta Newspaper) until I graduated.

Hande Arı

I started studying in Department of Business, Izmir University of Economics in 2006 after obtaining a very high score in university entrance exam. In 2011, I graduated from the Department of Logistics with a double major as a top student and completing the Business Retail Management Option Program within the framework of Tesco-IUE cooperation. During my education at Izmir University of Economics, I had the opportunity to study in Portugal and perform internships in Spain and England with the scholarship opportunities provided by Tesco Kipa within the Erasmus Internship and Student Mobility Programs.

I got into Izmir University of Economics Faculty of Communication, Department of Media and Communication with full scholarship, as my first choice in 2006. Almost everyone around me asked why I did not choose another school in Istanbul, that I would get into that school anyway. I never wanted to leave Izmir and I think the best place to get education in Izmir was Izmir University of Economics.

I graduated from Department of Psychology, Izmir University of Economics in 2011 as a high honor student. My assistantships, in line with the opportunities provided by my department, in IUE Psychology Laboratory and in the courses of academics who are influential in their field prepared me well-equipped for life after graduation.

Even though I was in Science-Mathematics department in high school and planned to become an engineer, I realized that I could not do a job I did not like my whole life. I had a change of mind in my senior year in high school , and I chose Department of Fashion Design of Izmir University of Economics. I did not have any idea about fashion design before, I consulted famous designers. I proved them right at the end of 4 years with the contributions of my school. There were many opportunities that my school provided me with during the school period.

Sercan Canbolat

Sercan Canbolat, who graduated from Izmir University of Economics, Department of International Relations and European Union as the top student in the department, top student in the faculty and the second top in the university, also completed his double major program in the Department of Economics with an honor degree. In the year he graduated, he was accepted to Bilkent University International Relations (with Thesis) Master's program with full scholarship and completed the program with first place. He was awarded a James W. Fulbright scholarship for doctorate study in the United States while continuing his master's program. 

Can Kıranlar

I graduated from IUE in 2011 as the fourth top student of the Department of Business Administration. During the same period, I Double Majored in Department of Logistics Management. Thanks to the Spanish I learned at IUE, I did an MBA at the Universita Autonoma de Barcelona in Barcelona and finished the Master in 2013. In the following year, I started working as a research assistant at Skema Business School near Nice, France.

It feels like yesterday the first time I entered the University. All that excitement, worry, curiosity… A school that intersects different cultures and embraces them all. I graduated from Department of Media and Communication Systems, Faculty of Communication in 2011. I had the opportunity to perform an internship at DHA and Izmir Chamber of Commerce because of my experience in personal development, practical assignments, and presentations, as well as my active involvement in social responsibility projects, in addition to theoretical knowledge I learned throughout my education. Emre Bilgin

When I think back about my life since the day I took the first step at Izmir University of Economics as a student, I always remember the importance of that first step. When I started my education in the Department of Business Administration in 2005, I knew that there was a lot I wanted to do with my interest and enthusiasm, but when I look back now, I did not imagine this much. I think that I spent my undergraduate years as actively as possible, as I decided to spend a period of my education in France with the Erasmus Student Exchange program in the preparatory class.

I graduated from Design Management Option, Department of Industrial Design, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Izmir University of Economics in 2010. Thanks to the design management option available only at my university in our country, learning not only the creativity side of the design but also the business world side of it made me very competitive in the labor market. So much so that I can think as a business administrator, a marketer and a public relations specialist and communicate with them in a technical sense, thanks to the interdisciplinary lessons we have studied and friends from different departments I met in these courses.

After graduation, I started to work as an Export Supervisor in Fjord Marin, a company with foreign partners, between 2010-2012. I worked at Opet Fuchs, first as a CFO assistant and then as a Budget-Reporting Specialist between 2012-2013. Afterwards, I worked as a Finance Specialist at CMS Jant Sanayi between 2013-2015. I started my undergraduate education at Izmir University of Economics, Department of Business Administration in 2005. I took my first step into the profession of Independent Accountant and Financial Advisor, which was my career goal in high school. During my undergraduate study in Department of Logistics Management at Izmir University of Economics, which I started in 2006, I had the chance to work in valuable positions such as Logistics Club President and Student Council Department of Logistics Management representative, and after graduating in 2010, I worked as an Aircraft Project Purchasing Specialist at MNG Technic Aircraft Maintenance company for a short period of about 4 months. 

Osman Maro

I started university in 2005 at Department of Economics at Izmir University of Economics as my first choice, and graduated successfully in 2009. Courses I took were matching the character of my profession since I was interested in economics at an earlier age because of our family business as jeweler. During my leisure times I worked part-time at our family business “Bülent Maro Mücevherat”. I needed to get ready for work life as a second generation representative.

Egemen Akın

I started my education at Izmir University of Economics in 2005 as one of the first students at Department of Industrial Systems Engineering (now Department of Industrial Engineering). Of course I had doubts about choosing a new department of a relatively young university, but, when I was convinced that the University offered a high quality education system and teaching staff based on the needs of the region and the country, my worries were replaced by a different excitement. During my 4-year undergraduate education, I was taught by internationally recognized academics, and it was also rewarding to see our department maturing and improving along with us and being a part of it has always been a point where I feel the advantage.

I graduated from Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Translation and Interpretation in 2009 as a high honor student, which I started in 2005. The undergraduate education I started to study at Izmir University of Economics in 2004 has created a solid foundation for me to start my academic career. Birtan Ünsal

I started my studies in the Department of Economics at Izmir University of Economics in 2005. I worked as a bass guitarist in Group Turuncu, the school's official music club, in 2005-2006. As a group, we had a few concerts, including the 2006 spring festival. I had the opportunity to do Work & Travel for 4 months in Atlanta in the United States during summer 2007.

I graduated from Izmir University of Economics, Department of Economics in 2009. After graduation, I had  four-year experience and expertise at different departments, like Logistics and Sales at Arkas Holding where I performed my internship before.

Coşkun Deniz Temel

My university life, which started at Izmir University of Economics in 2004, ended with my graduation in 2009. After completing my military service, I gained 1 year of commercial experience in the family business retail sector. To put into practice what university education has given me, I started to work as an import and export manager for 3 years in a company called Dirmak Makina in Izmir. At the end of 2013, I decided to move to Sweden to start a family. After 1 year of intensive Swedish language training, at the beginning of 2015, I started to work as an import export manager at Sydsvensk Form Reklam AB company, of which I am a 50% partner today.

İlker Dizlek

I graduated from Department of Computer Engineering in 2009. After graduation, I started my career at Abdi İbrahim pharmaceutical company. After working here for 2 years, I started working as a manager at Vatan Bilgisayar. I continued my career as a Store Manager at Vatan Bilgisayar for 7 years. I accepted a job offer in October 2021 and started my new job as a senior manager at Sonçağ Palet, a family company founded in 1940.

Büşra Kırmızıoğlu

Immediately after graduating with honors in 2009, I completed my academic education in 2011, which I continued at a postgraduate degree in Istanbul. I gained professional experience for 3 years in different advertising and PR agencies in Istanbul. As a result of my application to the lecturing staff opened by YOK in the Rectorate of Pamukkale University in 2017, I was entitled to work as a Public Relations Specialist in this institution. I have been working as the Director of Press and Public Relations since 2019 at the institution where I am still working. Since the very beginning of my career, the most important fact that I learned during my education at Izmir University of Economics and which sheds light on me is the fact that as long as the information was conveyed to people with a correct communication method, that information provided a benefit beyond the meaning acknowledged by the next generation.

Damla Eytemiz

In my first year at Izmir University of Economics, I started to improve myself not only academically but also socially by taking advantage of the numerous opportunities that the school has offered. When I was working at the Student Affairs unit of the University, I visited high schools in different cities with our esteemed educators and represented our school. I added another language to my resume by improving my German education, which started in high school, at the University. While trying to decide on the field where I can use my skills in the best way after the university exam, I saw the newspaper advertisement of Izmir University of Economics, Department of Software Engineering. I was very excited by the idea of ​​developing my interest, which started when I first saw the black and white computer screen at the age of seven, by getting the right education.

Mete Ömerali

I’ve always wanted to become a Computer Engineer. Even in a middle school yearbook, my friends wrote about seeing me as Computer Engineer in the future. My personal interests and the importance of technologies in our lives made me become a student at Department of Computer Engineering at Izmir University of Economics in 2004. After I graduated, I started to work with Embryonix, a great advantage offered by the University. My first job experience started in my senior year and continued the following year.

Müge Akçiçek

I graduated from Department of Translation and Interpretation, Izmir University of Economics in 2008 as the second top student of the department. I am currently doing my master's degree in English translation and interpretation at Dokuz Eylul University. I crossed paths with Izmir University of Economics on an autumn day in 2004. It was the place where I had the best four years of my life; and established fine friendships in addition to achieving academic competencies. I completed International Trade and Finance and Business Administration (double major) undergraduate programs of Izmir University of Economics. Following my undergraduate education, I started the Finance Master program at Lund University, Sweden. As I was very satisfied with Lund University's graduate program, I started my doctorate in Business Finance at Lund University.

Studying economics in English and choosing German as a second foreign language helped me a lot in my master's and doctoral studies.

Canan Can Çelik

I am a graduate of Department of English Translation and Interpretation (2008). During my student years I was a member of the theater club. The versatile skills that I gained with the contributions of our university and valuable professors offered me the opportunity to gain different experiences in my career. After working as a lecturer at Ege University School of Foreign Languages, I decided to become a civil servant and entered the Ministry of the Interior, General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs in 2012 as a Translator-Interpreter. 

Serkan Güngör

I graduated from the Department of International Relations and EU in 2008 as a high honor student. At the same time, I completed the minor program in International Economics by using the opportunities provided by my university, and I had the opportunity to study for 6 months in the field of European Studies at Maastricht University in the Netherlands as part of the Erasmus program. In my last year, I was just entering the finals when I received a job offer from Ernst & Young (EY) Company that I applied for to start after my graduation.

Candaş Ener Erdener

I started at Department of International Trade and Finance with 100% scholarship in 2003 and graduated in 2007 with High Honors. The most important thing the University helped me with was to equip me with presentation skills by improving my analytical skills. When I graduated, I prepared for inspectorship exams of the banks in the light of theoretical information I learned, and passed the first exam I took. I started my career as Assistant Inspector at Turkish Economy Bank.

Ali Mat

I started in 2002 and graduated in 2007. I had tremendous knowledge and experience in addition to long lasting friendships. I learned the best from the best teachers and being still in touch with them today makes my university step forward in my work life. I started my professional life in 2010 at DİMES, a leading fruit juice and Milk Company in Turkey, as Distribution Manager and Chain Stores Manager.

I never taught about leaving Izmir after I graduated from high school. I wanted to attend a high-quality university to help me steer my future in the right direction and keep my current lifestyle intact. Izmir University of Economics served this purpose perfectly. I graduated in 2007 from a university which helped me build rock-solid friendships in addition to providing me with extensive knowledge and experience very much needed for my career.

Burak Çayır

In 2003, on the last day of the university preference period, I changed my first choice and entered the Department of Computer Engineering, Izmir University of Economics with full scholarship. It was the first year the department accepted students with the university entrance exam and our university was only two years old. Although it seemed like a risk at the time, I never regretted taking this risk. Although it was a new and boutique university, we received quality education from highly successful lecturers.

Göksel Kuşlu

Today, the understanding of "knowledge is power" has been replaced by the understanding of "using knowledge is power". In this direction, Izmir University of Economics has adopted an education approach that not only equips its students with knowledge, but also allows the acquired knowledge to be used in real life.

Onur Güzey

I started my academic life as one of the first students of the university in 2001. Throughout our education life, we have had valuable teachers who have a reputation in their own fields, worked in certain areas of business and taught us to open every door. Izmir University of Economics is a turning point in my life, where I assumed the presidency of the student council in 2005-2006, and in the following years, where I took part in the management of the alumni association for a few years.

Ezgi Çakmak Kesimli

I am one of the first students and one of the first graduates also. It wasn’t an easy decision; I had to take a risk. But I realized it was the best decision after I graduated. I can see it clearly now after the best quality education I received. I was able to find employment at companies I liked and put everything I learned into practice.

Dilşad Tekin

I am one of the first students and first graduates of Izmir University of Economics. In 2001, I enrolled in the Business Administration Program as a scholarship holder of OSYM. I graduated in the honors list in 2005. I performed internship at companies such as BMC, Arkas, Turkcell until I graduated.

Efe Aylın

I am one of the first graduates of Izmir University of Economics, Department of International Relations and European Union. Graduates of the Department of International Relations and European Union may be expected to be foreign service officer professionally, just as a law graduate is a lawyer or a cook graduate is a cook.

Aykut Terzioğlu

The knowledge and experience I gained at Izmir University of Economics, where I met in 2001 as "one of the first students", continues to guide me correctly in every step I take towards professional development. In 2005, I completed the Business Administration, International Relations and European Union departments of our University concurrently and graduated as one of the first Double Major Program graduates.

Tutku Konuk Altındal

After graduating as one of the first graduates of Izmir University of Economics, Department of International Relations and EU in 2005, I completed my master's degree in European Studies at Boğaziçi University. Due to my desire to work in private sector, in 2007, I started my career at Arkas Holding's Communications Directorate. Later, I took on various roles in the 'corporate communications' departments of CMS Jant and Turcas Petrol, Turkey’s best family run companies.

Utku Utkan

I had the privilege of attending the first graduation ceremony of Izmir University of Economics when I graduated from MBA program in 2003. When I was searching for graduate programs, I came across news about the establishment of our school and decided to attend the introduction meeting and enrolled in MBA program the first semester it started. I believe that receiving training from both estimable teachers in academia and experts from different sectors provided me a different point of view on business world and management.
