When I started my education at Department of International Trade and Finance, which was my first choice, in 2005 I understood a new life was ahead of me. After spending a year abroad, I thought everything would be different, and everything turned out the way I wanted. One of the biggest reasons for me to choose this program was to work abroad. Also, believing that finance would always become handy no matter which program you attended. The University having a high-quality teaching staff, medium of instruction being English, and second foreign language as a bonus would allow me to reach my goals. I wanted to have my master’s degree abroad, especially in Germany, since my high school years. For starters, I chose German as a second foreign language. I applied to Erasmus Internship Mobility program in the first semester of 2007. So, my three-month long Germany adventure began like this. I started to perform my internship at Rödl &Partner audit, legal and consulting firm in Nurnberg, Germany. They also have an office in Turkey. It was a positive outcome when I combined the practical information I gained here with the theoretical knowledge I learned at the University. It also led me to search about the University where I did my master's degree, which is ambitious about its education in Bavaria, Germany. When I returned, I started the necessary work to attend that school. I focused on accounting, marketing, law, and German courses with the help of my instructors. I would like to express my gratitude to my family foremost, and to my instructors Prof. Dr. Serdar Özkan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tarık Saygılı, Asst. Prof. Dr. Alp Limoncuoğlu, and Nihat Derebaşoğlu. These values of the University and opportunities always helped us broaden our horizon. Currently I am a graduate of one of toughest universities of Germany, Friedrich Alexander Universität – Uni Erlangen, and I am working as Junior Controller at Keynote SIGOS GmbH. My biggest recommendation to prospective students is that they should choose the best program, never give up their dreams, and turn all the obstacles into opportunities and follow their path.
