It was one of the best decisions I made to start Izmir University of Economics - Department of International Relations and EU, my first choice, in 2012 with a 100% scholarship. My major gave me an international perspective and a wide range of cultures. I tried to be as active as possible throughout my university life. During my undergraduate education, I gained various internship experiences. I performed my first compulsory internship at the Turkish Grand National Assembly-Directorate of Foreign Relations and Protocol. Before this internship, I was entitled to attend the Young Diplomats Academy run by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Thanks to the diplomacy trainings I received here, I did not encounter any difficulties during my internship. The language of instruction being English at our university was such a great advantage, and to turn this into an even bigger one, I participated in the Erasmus + program in Bratislava for 6 months in the 3rd year of my undergraduate period. During the Erasmus period, I had the opportunity to meet one-on-one with the big 4 accounting companies of the world, and I signed my contract as an Audit Consultant at Price Water House Coopers (PwC), which is one of these companies, before I graduated. After working at PwC for 4 years, I transferred to Maxion Wheels TR, where I am currently working as a financial controller in the beginning of 2021. The experiences I gained at the University and in my previous business life have been a great support for me to progress more accurately and safely in my current position. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this.
