Graduates of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) encourage the future generations. 208 IUE graduates caught an opportunity to pursue their careers abroad and became the first choice of international companies. IUE Rector Prof. Murat Aşkar said, “We are raising individuals who are open to innovations, generate knowledge, and develop ideas all the time. Achievements of IUE graduates are a solid proof that they start their life journey one step ahead.”
Being the first foundation university of the Aegean Region, Izmir University of Economics continues to grow rapidly and its graduates draw attention with their accomplishments not only nationwide but abroad also. IUE graduates, who transfer their academic information to their professional life successfully, take pride in representing Turkey all across the globe. Out of 208 graduates in 44 countries, 31 of them in America, 29 in Germany, 15 in Italy, 13 in England, 12 in Poland, 10 in Canada, and 8 in Belgium perform their jobs deservedly. Some of them are involved in top-level management at world-recognized companies, while some run their own businesses; IUE graduates climb the career steps firmly.
“We are raising young people equipped with leadership attributes”
Rector, Prof. Murat Aşkar stated that witnessing the accomplishments of the graduates made them very proud. The Rector said that they fulfilled the mission of raising entrepreneurial, critical thinking individuals who are equipped with leadership attributes. Prof. Aşkar said, “Our understanding of education is not solely based on academic information. We are making an effort to raise individuals who are socially developed, inquisitive, self-confident, and making an impression wherever they go. Accomplishments of our graduates prove that we do the right thing by trusting them. We talk about their accomplishments and show them as examples to current students. Of course, this is not the end of it, new success stories will be added in the coming years.”

Hande Arı: Graduated from Department of Business Management and Department of Logistics Management. Arı ranked in Top 10 Women to Watch in Shipping, list for women under 40 years of age who have proven success internationally in maritime industry in Norway. Currently she works as Global Commercial Manager in the Seven Seas group in close cooperation with the CEOs Office.
Burak Çayır: Graduated from Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. Currently, he works as a Software Engineer at Morgan Stanley, Canada.
Ebru Çuhadar: Graduated from Department of International Trade and Finance, Faculty of Business. Çuhadar, who lives in Czech Republic, currently works as Financial Reporting Specialist at SAP Corporate Financial Reporting organization.
Merve Evren: Graduated from Department of Public Relations and Advertising, Faculty of Communication. Currently, she works as a Manager at a marketing department of a company in Malta.
Müge Güvensal: Graduated from Department of International Relations and European Union, Faculty of Business. Güvensal started her own business in travel industry in England.
