“Glocalzone” enterprise, co-founded a year ago by Burak Sönmez, graduate of IUE Department of Software Engineering, and Doğan Turan, graduate of IUE Department of Political Science and International Relations, brings people traveling to different countries with people who want products from those countries together. This way, while people are able to get products that are hard to find in close surroundings, travelers make extra bucks as they travel. Sönmez gave information about their application where he said, “We wanted to establish a dependable, trustable group from day one. This enterprise expanded with the support of our academicians initially. While hundreds of people were able to purchase the products they were looking for, travelers earned a good commission from these products.” Co-founder Turan said, “With the first investment, we were able to handle mobile payment process, security, and software development issues. Now, with this new 400 thousand Euro investment, we are going to go global and promote our application worldwide. We hope to satisfy more customers in more areas.”
