I graduated from Izmir University of Economics, Department of Industrial Systems Engineering in 2016 with a high honors degree. Among my goals before starting university were to receive a comprehensive and technically competent engineering education at world standards, to continue my career abroad and to gain experience in the business world before graduation. Among the most important reasons why I chose Izmir University of Economics were its competent and experienced academic staff, the scholarship opportunities it offers, the fact that the medium of instruction being English, the opportunities to learn second and third foreign languages, the recognition of the University at home and abroad, and the many opportunities that open up to the business world.
My university years offered me the opportunity to learn and grow every day. I received a solid English education, I also took German classes as a second foreign language thanks to the opportunities provided by our University. I had the opportunity to learn three different foreign languages with the Spanish classes I attended as a volunteer. I also improved myself socially and culturally thanks to the university clubs.
In addition to all these, I spent a semester as an exchange student at the University of Mannheim through the Erasmus exchange program. I had the opportunity to perform internships in various local and global companies. In my last year of university, I worked part-time at the Bosch Thermo-technology factory and at the same time I successfully completed my graduation project at JTI.
Before I graduated, I received job offers from many companies, and I was also accepted to graduate programs from many prestigious universities in Europe and Turkey. I wanted to continue my career abroad, so I started my master's degree in Computer Science at the Technical University of Munich. During my master's degree, I worked part-time at Airbus Defense and Space and graduated with honors from the Technical University of Munich. After my master's degree, I worked as an IT specialist at IBM Germany for a year. Then I moved to SAP Germany and have been working as a technology consultant at this company for about four years.
Izmir University of Economics has not only provided me with professional knowledge and skills, but also social and cultural skills. I am grateful to IUE for all the opportunities and unforgettable memories.
