I graduated from Izmir University of Economics Psychology-Sociology double major programs with honor student degrees. After graduating from the Department of Sociology in 2018, I started to work as a student assistant at the Department of Psychology at Izmir University of Economics until I graduated in 2019. During my undergraduate period, I performed various internships and volunteer work in both psychology and sociology. The double major opportunity of Izmir University of Economics helped me a lot in my job applications. One month after my graduation, I immediately started to work as a psychologist at the Dikkat Geliştirme Merkezi (Attention Development Center). At that time, I started to receive supervisions and trainings to improve myself. I received both therapy trainings and test and evaluation trainings. After working in the attention center for 5 months, I worked as a psychologist in a Family Counseling Center. I gained experience about adult, child and adolescent psychology sessions. After working at the family counseling center for one and a half years, we established our own counseling center, Özne Counseling Center, with a friend in March 2021. Meanwhile, I completed my master's degree in Family Counseling at Dokuz Eylul University. Although I continue to improve myself in the field of psychology, the fact that I learned sociological perspectives in my undergraduate education allowed me to make both individual and social evaluations in my sessions. I recommend students who want to work in this field to enter the field as quickly as possible and learn the session practice information. It will be very useful for them to go through the supervision process. It is especially important for them to go through their own therapy processes and to master all the ethical requirements of the profession.I wish success to all fellow graduates and students.
