I graduated from Izmir University of Economics, Vocational School of Health Services, Medical Documentation and Secretariat Program in 2018. My interest in the field of health and my desire to work in health institutions played a big role in choosing my program. In my choice of university; I learned that Izmir University of Economics is a school with good quality of education, with job opportunities after graduation, and good socio-cultural activities. I also read the school's website, alumni articles and decided to study at Izmir University of Economics. The faculty members have always been very interested in our education, our internship location selection, and our academic studies, they supported and stood behind us. One of the biggest advantages our school provided was that I worked as an intern at multiple hospitals. In this way, the experiences I gained after graduation showed what kind of problems I might encounter in business life, what kind of professional responsibilities I would have, and I understood better during my internship that I would be happy while doing my job. My first job was in a private hospital where I worked as an intern. My second and current job is as a Medical Secretary in the Patient Admission Unit at Private Emot Hand Microsurgery Orthopedics Traumatology Hospital. Established in 1991, Emot Hospital is a private branch hospital with 33 beds serving in the field of Hand Surgery and Orthopedics Traumatology, where 2750 surgeries and 2500 physiotherapy patients are welcomed by approximately 11.500 polyclinics per year. Since its establishment, the medical record archive has been regularly kept with advanced technology programs, and doctors and nurses have been preparing and making use of scientific publications through these records and archives. This is an indicator of how important our profession is. Special attention is paid when selecting the medical secretary staff. It is among our duties to welcome patients, to obtain and archive accurate and regular records, to ensure the security of this information within the scope of KVKK and to ensure its accessibility when necessary. My goal is to follow the developments in my program through publications and apply them in my institution, and to prepare publications in the following years. Among my career goals are, first of all, overseeing the patient registry unit and doing jobs that would be useful for the hospital administration and working in different managerial positions.
