I spent five years at Izmir University of Economics, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, which were fun and exhausting, teaching me both about life and the profession. I entered this program, which was my second choice, in 2007 as a full scholarship holder. Its well-equipped staff and scholarship opportunities were very effective in choosing Izmir University of Economics to study design and interior architecture. As a matter of fact, our campus became like our own home thanks to the dormitory facility provided by our school during my 5 years of education. As one of the first users of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design building that was completed in 2010, I still consider myself very lucky to have studied in one of the few design faculties that provide these opportunities not only in our country but also in Europe. Unlike many of my friends who graduated from our department, I preferred to continue my academic life after graduation, and I started the International Interior Design Master Program at Istanbul Technical University in 2012, 4 months after graduation. During my master's degree, I also took the first step in my professional life here as a research assistant. I spent a part of my master's education at Lahti Polytechnic University in Finland and had a very productive experience abroad. The courses and projects I took with the graduates of the Department of Interior Architecture from different countries of the world while I was abroad, helped me see how international the professional and foreign language education Izmir University of Economics gives us. After graduating from master's degree in 2015, I entered Eskişehir Anadolu University for my doctorate education, and I am continuing my doctorate program here. Although there are three different cities and universities I have studied and worked in over the 12 years since I started university, I will be forever grateful to Izmir University of Economics, which is the only place and school I still feel like myself, and of course the city of Izmir.
