I got into Izmir University of Economics Faculty of Communication, Department of Media and Communication with full scholarship, as my first choice in 2006. Almost everyone around me asked why I did not choose another school in Istanbul, that I would get into that school anyway. I never wanted to leave Izmir and I think the best place to get education in Izmir was Izmir University of Economics. Since I studied German in high school before, I improved my English by studying at prep class for one year. My faculty lectures were both fun and instructive; I had the chance to get to know our esteemed professors who helped me to manage my career correctly and who made person-based guidance by trying to get to know me as their students. Economy, diction, news writing, editing courses, front of-behind-the camera training, second foreign language courses and cinema courses made me understand better each day where I want to see myself at. The fact that high quality and distinctive perspectives shaping my university life has always made me feel special. I have collected many memories here, and thanks to this, I got to know the people that I am happy to have in my life. As soon as I finished my school as the second top student in the department, I started to work in the Aegean Exporters' Associations Corporate Communication Branch and I still continue my career here. What my university contributed to me gave me the power and pride to achieve anything I wanted. The scope of the Department of Media and Communication, in particular, is really wide, I am currently undertaking presenter tasks in the institution where I work, thanks to my front-of-camera lessons as well as corporate communication. I believe that being an IUE graduate means; being a strong individual who has the vision of being from Izmir, making a difference, being successful, proud, always self-confident, achieving career goals. And I can say that Izmir University of Economics is the most distinguished university in Izmir where you can get one step closer to your dreams and say you are where you want to be.
