As Izmir University of Economics Alumni Relations Office, we continue alumni information update activities to strengthen our communication with you, our esteemed alumni. By expanding the scope of what we regularly do every year, we decided to conduct a survey this year to have more information about you and to learn about your expectations about the University.

The information requested by you in the survey will be used to support our graduates for career planning, to monitor graduate success, and to create an alumni network. In addition, they will be maintained by the Alumni Relations Office to support education, teaching and research studies and research on social, cultural, and academic activities of the University. I enrolled in Izmir University of Economics, Department of Business Administration in 2008 by passing the prep exam. During my 4-year undergraduate education, I performed internships in the Human Resources departments of multinational companies such as Schneider Electric, Tesco Kipa. I had the chance to apply the knowledge I learned in lessons to internships.

I started my undergraduate study in Tourism Management at Dokuz Eylül University in 2004. But three years have passed by the time I started to make different plans for my future. I can honestly say that taking the OSS exam again and being admitted to Izmir University of Economics has been a turning point in my life even though I have lost all that time. A real milestone…If I haven’t done that I would be engaged in a profession I really did not enjoy. Instead, I am working as a Comptroller at Ministry of Finance.

In my first year at Izmir University of Economics, I started to improve myself not only academically but also socially by taking advantage of the numerous opportunities that the school has offered. When I was working at the Student Affairs unit of the University, I visited high schools in different cities with our esteemed educators and represented our school. I added another language to my resume by improving my German education, which started in high school, at the University. I did volunteer work in well-known institutions such as Izmir Chamber of Commerce, International Cotton Advisory Committee, Aegean Exporters' Associations.

When I think back about my life since the day I took the first step at Izmir University of Economics as a student, I always remember the importance of that first step. When I started my education in the Department of Business Administration in 2005, I knew that there was a lot I wanted to do with my interest and enthusiasm, but when I look back now, I did not imagine this much. I think that I spent my undergraduate years as actively as possible, as I decided to spend a period of my education in France with the Erasmus Student Exchange program in the preparatory class.
