Education in different disciplines and a rich social life come together and produce a glamorous work life. Graduates of Izmir University of Economics (IUE), begin their career lives at prestigious companies following the education they receive. Nihan Özbay, who had double major in IUE Department of Mathematics and Department of Business Administration, works at sales operations department of Dr. Oetker. Özbay said, “As I was studying mathematics at the University, I decided to go for double major in business administration. The education I received was the main reason for my employment at my company today.”
Özbay, who stated that she had been working at Sales Operations Department at Dr. Oetker since 2010 and continued her studies at IUE Graduate School of Social Sciences-Finance Program, said that she completed both of her majors as a high honour student with merit scholarship. She also indicated that starting her career at Dr. Oetker, one of the leading brand names of Germany, was very important for her. Özbay said, “I see the benefits of the qualified education I received at my work life. I put my mathematics intelligence and analytical thinking into use. I chose German as a second foreign language. My education contributed a lot to where I stand today.”
Özbay also stated that she actively took part in IUE Folk Dances Club throughout her undergraduate studies. Nihan Özbay said, “I took part in many activities during the 5 years I spent at IUE, which made me become more socialized and increased my self-confidence. The rich social life at IUE allowed me to express myself better. My graduate studies also help me broaden my vision.”
