Upon completing elementary and middle school in Switzerland, I came to Izmir for high school and university. I performed internship at tourism and foreign trade sectors. After I graduated from Department of Economics (English program) Ege University in 2010, I spent an academic year at Nürnberg University, Germany. I wanted to start my career immediately after I graduated but I also wanted a graduate degree that would help my career. Since I was born and raised in Switzerland in a dual culture, I chose Izmir University of Economics in 2012 which seemed the best place for my world-view and which would be beneficial for my career plans not only in Turkey but all around the world. I was convinced that I made the right decision even at first class. I believe that taking courses from estimable academicians, whom have extensive experience on different sectors, had a positive effect on our ideas regarding business world and on our perspectives most importantly. As my graduate studies continued, I had a chance to gain experience in the finance section of one of Turkey’s leading holdings serving in chemistry industry. Being able to turn my theoretical knowledge into practice was a turning point in my career. After I graduated from the Master’s Program as the top of my class in 2014, I started working as a Group Sales Specialist at a company which manufactures and sells aluminum rims to companies in automotive sector. In the second half of 2016, I decided to live and continue my career in Switzerland. I strongly recommend to prospective students of Izmir University of Economics to make a conscious decision about the program they want to study, gather information beforehand, and make solid career plans. If they use their time efficiently and make the best of opportunities, and further their education, they surely will see the benefits in time. I wish the best to all my student friends.
